⚠️ Before you publish this: This document was drafted to accurately describe what Cosmic Timing actually collects and does, based on its current features. It is a strong starting point, not a finished legal document. Have a lawyer familiar with privacy law in the regions you operate (especially GDPR if you have EU users, and CCPA if you have California users) review and finalize it before you rely on it. Cosmic Timing ("we," "us," "our") provides astrology-based timing and decision-support tools. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
1. Information We Collect
Account information
- Email address and password — used to create and secure your account (handled by our authentication provider, Supabase; we never see or store your raw password).
- Username — a unique handle you choose, used to identify you to other users (e.g., for friend requests). Your real name is never required.
Birth and location information
- Birth date, birth time, and birth location — the core inputs for every astrological calculation the app performs. If you don't know your exact birth time, you can mark it as unknown and the app will use a default.
- Current location — optional, stored only as a city-level place name (e.g., "Tokyo, Japan"), used to time certain features (like your daily outlook) to your actual time zone rather than assuming you still live where you were born.
- If you use the "detect my location automatically" feature, your device's GPS coordinates are sent to our server once, converted into a time zone and city label, and then discarded. We do not store your precise coordinates at any point.
Content you create
- Profile photo (optional) — if you upload one, it's stored with our storage provider and associated with your account.
- Custom scenario text — descriptions of decisions or situations you submit for analysis.
- Chat messages — conversations you have with the in-app assistant. These are sent to our AI provider (OpenAI) to generate responses, and stored so your conversation history persists across sessions.
- Decision journal entries — scenarios you've analyzed, along with any outcome you choose to record (e.g., "went well," "hit problems").
Social and relationship information
- Friend connections — if you send or accept a friend request, that connection (and its status) is stored. Friends can see each other's Sun/Moon/Rising signs and a compatibility score, but never each other's exact birth date, time, or location — those fields are never shared between users under any circumstance.
Subscription information
- Subscription status — whether you have an active subscription, managed through Apple's App Store or Google Play and our subscription management provider (RevenueCat). We do not process or store your payment card details ourselves; that's handled entirely by Apple/Google.
Automatically collected information
- Basic technical logs (e.g., error logs, API request timestamps) that help us diagnose problems and keep the service running. These are not used to build an advertising profile.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information above to:
- Calculate your astrological chart and generate personalized timing insights, daily outlooks, and compatibility readings.
- Let you connect with friends and see compatibility with them.
- Maintain your decision journal and chat history across sessions.
- Process and manage your subscription.
- Communicate with you about your account (e.g., security notices).
- Improve and troubleshoot the app.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your birth data, chat content, or journal entries to serve you ads.
3. Third Parties We Share Information With
We use the following service providers to operate the app. Each only receives the specific data needed for its function:

We do not share your information with data brokers or advertisers.
4. Your Choices and Rights
- Access and correction — you can view and edit your birth information, current location, and profile photo at any time in the app.
- Deletion — you can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from Profile settings. This removes your profile, birth data, journal entries, chat history, friend connections, and uploaded photo. This action is irreversible.
- Friend data — removing a friend connection stops any further data sharing between you and that person going forward.
If you are in the EU/EEA, UK, or California, you may have additional rights under GDPR or CCPA (such as the right to data portability or to object to certain processing). Contact us using the information below to exercise these rights.
5. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your data is removed from our systems as described in Section 4, except where we are required to retain limited records for legal or fraud-prevention purposes.
6. Children's Privacy
Cosmic Timing is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13 or 16 in the EU]. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
7. Security
We use industry-standard measures (including encryption in transit and access controls) to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. International Data Transfers
Our service providers may process data in countries other than your own, including the United States. By using the app, you consent to this transfer.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We'll notify you of material changes through the app or by email.
